Municipal Worker 1 - Parks Summer Student

Term of Employment:


Full-Time, Summer Term (June 19, 2023 - August 25, 2023)


Rate of Pay:


Student Wage Band: $17.01 per hour (Subject to CUPE 1015 Agreement)

Parks & Green Spaces Team


Duties:


The Municipal Worker 1 performs a variety of parks and open-space maintenance, including all activities associated with turf, tree, flower and shrub bed maintenance, throughout the City of Lloydminster, in a safe and efficient manner. Duties may also include the care of sports fields, playgrounds, and other city amenities. The Municipal Worker 1 will participate in the City of Lloydminster’s Safety Management System. Other relevant duties may be assigned as required.


Schedule:


Normal working hours are Monday to Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with the occasional requirement to work outside these hours.


Qualifications:


The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Must possess and maintain a valid Class 5 Vehicle Operator’s License (registered in Alberta or Saskatchewan) with a clear driver’s abstract.
  • Must be in good physical condition.
  • Previous experience operating riding lawnmowers, push lawnmowers and string trimmers will be considered an asset.
  • The ability to lift up to 25 kg (50 lbs).
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • This position is contingent on receiving a satisfactory criminal record check prior to start date.


Special Instructions:

Applicants must be attending a post-secondary program including: college or university during the last school term and returning to studies in the subsequent academic year. Verification of student status will be required.
