Job description
SafetyNL is a provider of Canada Safety Council's nationally recognized Gearing Up program, which we run annually between the end of April and end of September. Instructors teach students the basic skills to operate a motorcycle as well as well as the defensive riding skills that will keep them safe on the road. Instructors teach both on the course and have the option of teaching private lessons with students who request time one-on-one.

Instructors are expected to be capable of teaching and demonstrating all of the lessons outlined in the Gearing Up program as well as provide individual coaching to students and answering questions arising from lessons or motorcycling in general. They must have the ability to analyze student progress and identify issues or problems needing attention or correction and provide guidance on correcting issues.
The course runs one evening per week and both Saturday and Sunday. Instructors are expected to participate in a minimum of 2 courses per year.

Qualifications

-Must have a full motorcycle operator’s licence
-At least 4 years of riding experience
-Own or have ready access to a licenced on-road motorcycle
-Be an active motorcyclist who regularly rides on public streets and highways
-Maintain a good driving record with no convictions under the Criminal Code of Canada
-Complete an approved instructor preparation course, Emergency First Aid, and WHMIS (provided by SafetyNL)
