POSITION SUMMARY
Employees of the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia (Assembly) provide professional non-partisan services to support the democratic institution of Parliament and its members through procedural advice, administrative support and information services. The Assembly is an autonomous employer, separate from the administrative framework of B.C. government ministries and agencies.
The Precinct Services department is seeking an organized, dependable, and service-oriented individual for the auxiliary as-and-when position of Server.
Reporting to the General Manager, Parliamentary Dining Room, the Server is responsible for providing food and beverage service to guests, as well as hosting and cashier duties to ensure guests are welcomed and fine dining standards are met. As a member of the food services team, this position will also provide service in other settings within the Legislative Buildings including the Ned DeBeck Lounge, meeting rooms and Parliamentary Grab n’ Go (PGNG) Kiosk.
The Parliamentary Dining Room is open Monday through Friday, from 8:30am to 3:00pm.
The Server will be required to work flexible hours. Work hours can extend beyond the above-mentioned hours to provide service for special events.

QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must have:
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in a hotel, restaurant, or private club facility.
- A Serving it Right Certificate.
- Experience with a food service POS system or similar.
Preference may be given to candidates with the following:
- A FOODSAFE Level 1 Certificate.
