This competition is for a 1(one) year term working 75 hours bi-weekly it will also be used for anticipatory permanent full time positions in Continuing Care (Copper Ridge Place, Thomson Centre, & Whistle Bend Place)

We are looking for organized individuals who have experience being a Supervisor, working independently and building relationships. This position provides leadership and supervision to the Nursing Home Attendants on shift while adhering to the standards and philosophy of Continuing Care, in order to improve the quality of life for residents/clients.
Flexibility and ability to balance competing demands from residents/clients and co-workers is important. The ability to problem-solve complex and emergent situations while considering Continuing Care policies is part of this role. This position works with the unique needs of residents and their families and participates in assessing, documenting, planning and evaluation of interventions and supports provided.
This position is an integral part of our nursing team and provides nursing care to clients to help meet their physical, emotional and spiritual needs; participates in the development, implementation and evaluation of nursing care plans. This position provides nursing services, within the scope of a licensed practical nurse, and refers clients for advanced nursing assessment by RN or NP as required.

Essential Qualifications:
Please submit your resume clearly demonstrating how you meet the following qualifications. Please note selection for further consideration will be based solely on the information you provide in your resume.
- Certification as a Licensed Practical Nurse
- Recent experience working as an LPN in a Health Care setting
- Recent experience in a Supervisory role that has provided supervision, performance management, and performance evaluations.

- Ability to provide professional care for Residents/Clients by promoting their physical, emotional and spiritual well-being
- Ability to provide leadership, coaching and training to members of the team
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, as well as the ability to effectively problem solve
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to lead and coordinate a diverse group of people
Additional Information:
Conditions of Employment:
Current Yukon LPN certification, CPR BLS, TB screening, WHMIS 2015, Food Safe level 1, Transportation of Dangerous Goods, and Vulnerable Sector RCMP security clearance are all required prior to hire.
Job Requirements: Exposure to animals, second hand smoke and latex products in the facilities, shift work, and a high level of heavy lifting (over 50 lb)
