About Us


Role

The GMS Analyst reports to the Manager of Financial Compliance and Systems and is responsible for effectively supporting the integration of the Grant Management System (GMS) processes and procedures with the financial grant management policies and procedures within the Agriculture and Irrigation department. Additionally, the GMS Analyst assists in the continuous implementation, support, and maintenance of AGI's grant programs.

The incumbent's role involves providing consulting services and project leadership to department and program delivery specialists and managers. This is done to understand their grant management business requirements in relation to the operations of GMS. The successful candidate will also offer GMS knowledge and assist clients and program areas in database management through a help desk capacity.

Key responsibilities include coordinating the implementation of new projects and ensuring the smooth operation of GMS, handling both planned activities and addressing unexpected issues. The GMS Analyst will also facilitate the optimal use of GMS by program areas and provide support for user acceptance testing. Additionally, there may be involvement in program reporting, IT risk assessment, and providing support for special projects.

Qualifications

Education:

  • University graduation in a related field; no experience required; or equivalent as described below.


Equivalencies maybe considered - directly related education or experience considered on the basis of:

  • 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
  • 1 year of experience for 1 year of education


Additional Requirements:

  • Experience with researching methodologies, techniques and procedures, including the application of qualitative and quantitative research methods and/or data analysis.
  • Prior experience financial applications, grant management systems or other database management


Assets:

  • Experience with UAT testing
  • Experience with Ministry Business Plans and Strategic priorities

Candidates with lesser qualifications may be considered at a lower classification and salary.

Salary

$2,310.48 to $3,030.81 bi-weekly ($60,303 - $79,104/year)

Position Information:

  • This is a temporary maternity leave backfill position an anticipated end date of November 2024.
  • Secondments will be considered.


Hours of Work: 36.25 hours per week (full time), Monday to Friday (8:15 am - 4:30 pm)

Location: Edmonton
