THE ROLE


The Bar Supervisor/Administrative Assistant plans, organizes, staffs and supervises bar activities and events according to established policies and procedures. They organize and supervise private functions, as required. They organize and supervise mess dinners and military functions, as required. They train and supervise employees, prepare employee work schedules and enter hours into the applicable payroll program. They assist with membership management and the collection of mess dues. The Bar Supervisor/Administrative Assistant also monitors and orders liquor and bar supplies, and performs administrative duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED


Education, Certifications and Licenses

High school diploma and several years of experience in beverage sector or a related field
Must be of legal age to serve alcohol in Nova Scotia
Must possess a Responsible Service of Alcohol certification for Nova Scotia
Valid Driver’s Licence (Nova Scotia), an asset

OTHER INFORMATION


Perform moderate lifting, carrying, pulling and/or pushing (i.e. more than 10 lbs/4.5 kg but less than 50 lbs/23 kg).

Hours of work: Must be available to work days, evenings and weekend shifts, dependent on operational and seasonal requirements.
