This competition will be used to fill multiple Administrative Secretary positions in Virden, Manitoba for the Department of Economic Development, Investment and Trade. Oil and Gas is a team of engineers, geologist(s), auditor(s), technicians, inspectors and administrative staff that ensure compliance with the Oil and Gas Act and associated regulations.

Qualifications:
Essential:
- Experience performing administrative and/or clerical duties, which may include but are not limited to: reception, answering phones, records management, filing, data entry, receiving and recording invoices, etc.
- Experience working with the public and providing customer service to a diverse clientele
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, Word, Excel and Outlook
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work as part of a team
- Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to provide information in a clear and concise manner
- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to prepare, edit and format correspondence with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information
Desired:
- Ability to understand, explain, and apply regulations, policies, and/or procedures
- Knowledge of the upstream oil industry in Manitoba
Duties:
The incumbent is responsible for performing reception; administrative office duties; ordering and inventory control of office supplies as required; liaison with IT services in support of shared office equipment such as printers and copiers; and liaison with the building landlord regarding cleaning services, repairs, snow removal, and general maintenance. In addition, the incumbent is responsible for the acquisition and maintenance of technical facilities information and data entry, including but not limited to: new wells, spills, rehab, drilling and service reports, non-compliances and pressure tests. The incumbent is also responsible for updating and revising material such as the new well licence list, Salt Water Disposal/Water Injection Well pressure database and master telephone and address lists. The incumbent is expected to exercise initiative and independent judgement when generating complex and confidential forms, reports and records. The incumbent will answer general inquiries from the public and specific Drilling Regulations questions from industry.
