The Opportunity
The Grande Prairie RCMP Administrative Unit is a dynamic and fast-paced environment where the successful candidate will be responsible for providing support to external stakeholders, such as law offices, insurance companies, and various Government agencies. They provide administrative support to the Community Engagement and Diversity (CEAD) Unit as well as facilitate access for municipal employees and Police Officers within the detachment. They manage and maintain the detachment's key control system and ensure all documentation for HR files is filed appropriately and promptly.
Responsibilities
- You will be responsible for processing requests from insurance companies and/or law firms for disclosure of operational police files.
- You will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Community Engagement and Diversity Unit.
- You will be responsible for managing and maintaining the detachment key control system.
- You will be responsible for actioning steps on the Public Complaints process and tracking the follow-up.
- You will be responsible for providing support in the areas of Fleet & Equipment Management, Budget & Finance Coordination, and Video processing.
You Bring
To be successful, you should possess a High School Diploma along with a Business Administration Certificate from a recognized educational institution and a minimum of two (2) years of experience in a busy office environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Candidates must possess or be able to obtain, and maintain, an RCMP Enhanced Security Clearance, which is significantly more involved than a Police Information Check.
- You must possess the ability to handle sensitive, confidential information using tact, diplomacy, and mature judgment in all communication, including during stressful situations.
- Attention to detail is critical for all aspects of this position.
- It would be considered an asset to have work experience with the Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC) database and the Police Reporting and Occurrence System (PROS) as well as working in a law enforcement environment.
- You must be able to demonstrate knowledge and proficiency with computer data entry and retrieval, and modern office procedures and equipment.
Hours
Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm. 35 hours per week.
Compensation
C band - Entry Level.
Wages start at $28.72 per hour/ $52,270.40 per annum. In addition, the City of Grande Prairie offers a comprehensive benefits package.
