Aatse Davie School is located within the Kwadacha Nation which is an isolated Kaska-Tsek'ene community located 600km north of Prince George BC. It lies at the confluence of the Fox, the Kwadacha and Finlay rivers in the Rocky Mountain Trench.

There are 14 professional staff and 8 support staff at our school, and a student population of 100 from Kindergarten to grade 12.

We are looking for dynamic individuals to join our team and be part of our rich cultural heritage and growing community!

Do you have a desire to lead, motivate, and manage groups of varying ages, abilities, and backgrounds? We are currently looking for a Kindergarten Teacher, a Grade 7 Teacher and a Grade 8/9 Teacher. Class size range from 8-12 students. We have an Outdoor Education program which is part of Aatse Davie School and is well funded and community supported. This program ensures all students receive on the land learning weekly. If you love the outdoors and enjoy hiking, canoeing, snowmobiling and skiing this may be a wonderful opportunity for you!

Roles/Responsibilities:

• Develop lesson plans in correlation with the B.C curriculum

• Provide cross-curricular guided inquiry experiences outdoors
• Collaborate with colleagues, community members and organizations, and elders in the design and delivery of the curriculum.

• Value caring for natural surroundings and the greater ecological world, promoting advocacy and stewardship
• Willingness and commitment to uphold Aatse Davie Schools’ policies and protocols

The successful candidate will:

• Be able to adjust to living in a small community
• Be sensitive to First Nation’s community and educational issues.
• Be energetic and innovative, willing to contribute to a team effort.
• Bring special talents to a strong extra-curricular program
• Have strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Hold or willing to obtain a valid B.C Teaching Certificate

Salary depends on education and experience: Range $69,129-$110,505
