The Town of Port Hawkesbury is seeking applications from qualified candidates to fill the position of Tax & Utility Clerk.

The Tax & Utility Clerk position is an integral position in the Town's Finance department, responsible for various tasks including:

  • Tax and water billing and collections
  • Tax sale preparation and administration
  • Property assessment changes and updates
  • Ratepayer account administration
  • Payment arrangements with ratepayers
  • Mortgage payments and reconciliations on tax accounts
  • Low-income tax exemption administration
  • Accounts payable support
  • Reception and customer service support
  • Miscellaneous invoicing

The Town promotes versatility in their workforce, and as part of the Finance team, there will be flexibility in the responsibilities of this role.

We are looking to add to our team an individual who has a business or related post- secondary education, has proven collection experience, pays strong attention to detail, is comfortable with technology, and has worked in an administrative role for 5+ years.
