The Engineering Parks & Environment requires an auxiliary Survey Assistant 2 until approximately the end of August.

You will be responsible for performing technical and manual work in assisting in all aspects of conducting varied survey assignments. You will be responsible for assisting in the collection of topographic surveys and the establishment of property lines and grades using electronic/optical instruments and various power and hand tools. Working with some independence, you will also assist staff with preliminary construction surveys, field layouts of designs, as-built surveys, digital leveling, traffic flow studies and asset management.

You will have completed grade 12, supplemented by courses in surveying together with working knowledge of the methods, techniques and equipment used in municipal survey work as well as sound related experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience. You have the ability to perform manual work in all weather and drive a pickup truck or van. Computer literacy, specifically Microsoft Office, is required for this position and CAD/Civil3D skills would be a definite asset. A valid Class 5 BC Drivers’ license is also required.

Salary:
$26.34 per hour + 12% in lieu of benefits
(Pay Grade 15 – January 2021 rates)

Hours of Work:
8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. - Monday to Friday
