In this role, your primary responsibility is to ensure monitoring and analysis is conducted to guarantee the ongoing stability of all systems. You will also be expected to implement and maintain the infrastructure and tools that are necessary to manage the software development process within the OMERS Pensions division
You will be part of growing a product development team to deliver new and existing products and services for OMERS Pensions. The Products & Technology team is an exciting new team focused on using the newest technologies and approaches to deliver solutions & systems for the modern-day end user. As a member of this team, you will be responsible for:
Mentoring other team members
Working with Kubernetes
Working with both on-premises and cloud infrastructure (GCP, Azure)
Recommending automation improvements to replace manual tasks utilizing DevOps tooling
Maintaining cloud infrastructure through code using Ansible and Terraform.
Defining implementation and contingency plan for system upgrade and providing impact analysis and recommendation for system updates
Taking part in Change Management activities
Monitoring tools and system analytics
Creating and maintaining operational runbooks
Working closely with internal business partners to gather requirements, design and implement solutions, manage technical operations, and fix operational issues
Developing and implementing logging and system monitoring best practices
Applying vendor provided system patches to DevOps tooling and Kubernetes containers
To succeed in this role, you have:
Strong working knowledge with Kubernetes (3+ years)
Cloud platforms experience (GCP and Azure preferred)
Experience and familiarity with Linux and networking concepts
Observability tool experience (Datadog preferred)
Secret Management familiarity (Azure Key Vault or HashiCorp Vault preferred)
CI/CD experience with tools such as Gitlab and/or GitHub Actions (3+ years)
Release management and branching techniques
Self-starter with the ability to work in a cross functional team-based environment
