The Ministry of Education provides leadership and direction to Saskatchewan’s education, early years, library and literacy sectors. The Strategic Policy and Planning Branch within the Ministry of Education is seeking a strategic thinker and results-oriented team player to fill the role of Senior Bilingual Policy Advisor.
This position requires a strong bilingual communicator (English and French) who is able to represent ministry and stakeholder interests in the negotiation of protocols and agreements. The successful candidate will present and exchange information (both oral and written) with colleagues, the federal government, other jurisdictions, provincial learning sector partners, and other stakeholders in both official languages. You will demonstrate strong planning and reporting skills in order to manage and report on program and financial aspects of intergovernmental agreements. You will have the ability to build relationships and facilitate discussions in a bilingual context with a variety of stakeholders and clients to gain input and negotiate workable solutions, agreements programs and policies.
As a strong team player, the candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing a number of diverse tasks and projects, both independently and as a team leader. Our candidate of choice will bring knowledge of program and policy development and analysis and government decision making processes. The successful candidate will have the ability to analyze trends and issues, assess options and solutions and make policy recommendations.
Typically, the successful candidate will have gained the required knowledge and abilities through completion of a graduate degree in public administration, social sciences or education, supplemented with relevant work experience. Bilingualism (French/English) is required.
