The Senior Associate is also called to playing an active role in the careful monitoring of projects, contributing to the management of investment opportunities, helping to improve portfolio performance and promoting collaboration and teamwork. The Senior Associate will focus on consumer finance-related investments. This may include investments related to residential mortgages, personal loans, credit cards, point-of-sale financing, and auto financing. Transactional experience in private equity, structured credit, asset-backed finance, consumer credit, or financial services investment banking is a priority for this position. Main responsibilitiesParticipate in the identification of consumer finance investment opportunities. This may include whole loan purchases, portfolio financings, ABS investments, platform investments, and special situations investments. Participate in the preparation, within established timetables, of preliminary analyses and documents for investment recommendations (executive summaries) to CDPQ.On portfolio and whole loan transactions, support the loan tape "cracking". This includes the cashflow, valuation, returns, and sensitivity analyses of the underlying loan tapes. The Senior Associate must have substantial experience using third-party cashflow and loan tape software (e.g. Intex, Bloomberg, etc.)Carry out project research and fundamental analysis; examine leadership and business model quality, capacity ability to create value, growth potential and project risks; develop industry sub-sector and asset-class investment theses and analysesparticipate in the preparation of the required internal investments documentation (investment committee memos, financial and valuation models, internal risk ratings, sectoral reports);Monitor changes in the monthly, quarterly and annual financial results of investments;Help identify potential crisis situations sufficiently in advance;Play an active role in the investment due diligence process.Review and analyze legal documentation related to investments (letters of offer, credit agreements, prospectuses and other credit documents);Develop effective analysis, search and monitoring systems;Offer assistance to other team members to achieve expected resultsCarry out all other related tasks as requested by the team leader.RequirementsSeven or more years of experience in structured or consumer finance investment analysis;Bachelor's or Master's degree Proficiency in software programs and databases used in the financial market (Office suite, Bloomberg, Capital IQ) and structured finance markets (e.g. Intex, Yieldbook, etc.)Excellent command of written and spoken English and FrenchSound knowledge of project financing or tangible assetsCompetenciesIndependence and initiativeIntellectual curiosity;Ability to think critically, analyze and summarizeRigorous and quality-orientedTeam player;Communication skills.Only candidates selected for an interview willbecontacted.CDPQ wants to offerequalemploymentopportunities to everyone.
