Reporting to the Security Operations Supervisor, you will be part of the Security Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
- Access control monitoring and coordinating employees entering/leaving the mine site and/or high security areas;
- Responsible for security of AEM properties and assets. Duties include oversight of ensuring proper authorization for all property movement, including safeguarding mining assets, including both physical property and intellectual property while also safeguarding the physical safety of all personnel;
- Overseeing and/or conducting searches of persons, vehicles and property;
- Aid in the prevention of theft, vandalism, trespassing and any other actions that may disrupt the safe and secure operation of the mine site;
- Assist in Security execution operations as directed;
- Coordinate and respond to all site-based emergencies;
- Enforcement of all Agnico Eagle safety rules, regulations, and policies;
- Completes reports by recording observations, completing incident reports, conducting interviews, and investigations as directed;
- Completion of detailed daily notes;
- Monitor and maintain compliance of all security processes, policies and procedures;
- Adherence to all Security licensing requirements, or applicable government security requirements and directives;
- Ability to liaison with local authorities and outside agencies as required;
- Inspect and adjust Security systems and related equipment to ensure optimum operational use and detect evidence of tampering;
- Control and monitoring of CCTV systems including daily retention checks and proper operation of all surveillance equipment;
- Submitting reports for immediate rectification of any disruption to CCTV systems;
- Conducting any additional tasks as directed by the Security Supervisor.
- A valid Private Security and Investigative Services issued Security Guard License;
- A degree, diploma or certificate in Police Foundations, Law and Security Administration or a related program;
- Security background with a minimum of 1 to 3 years’ progressive experience in a related role is ideal;
- Valid Ontario Security Guard License is required;
- Valid G Class Ontario Driver’s License with clear driver’s abstract is required;
- CPR level C is required;
- Industrial Security Experience is an asset;
- Bilingualism (French / English) is an asset;
- Advanced MS Suite skills, MS Office skillset and PC based competency mandatory.
Your Work Schedule:
- Schedule: 7 days of work followed by 7 days of rest;
- Work Location: Taylor Mine located off of Highway 11 just outside of Matheson, ON.
