The School Administrative Assistant provides a variety of administrative, financial and clerical support to the school administration, teaching staff and student body to ensure the efficient operations of Kluane Lake School located in Destruction Bay.

We are a K 4 to Grade 12 school. We may be small but we don’t let that stop us from exploring big ideas. We are committed to integrating land based learning, Southern Tutchone language and community exploration into our classrooms and school.

We are looking for a candidate who can confidently perform the duties of a forward facing role while providing exceptional customer service to our school community. This position is responsible for greeting visitors, either in person or on the telephone; assisting with inquires, completing teacher on-call call outs and maintaining employee and department directories. The School Administrative Assistant also plays an important role in supporting the school with all financial services, tracking, and supports.

The School Administrative Assistant plays an important role in supporting the branch by providing office and administrative supports. In addition, this role provides financial services to the branch. The candidate requires a basic working knowledge of accounts payable and receivable, payroll tracking and administering, completing Visa and bank reconciliations and producing financial reports.

Essential Qualifications

  • Providing customer reception in a forward facing role
  • Experience providing service to multiple clients in an office environment
  • Experience with finances including accounts receivable or accounts payable
  • School Experience would be an asset
  • Trauma focused coursework would be an asset

Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may be equally considered.

Additional information

Conditions of Employment:

  • RCMP Security Clearance, Vulnerable Sector;
  • Standard First Aid (willingness to obtain within 6 months of hire)
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License
