New Job Plant Operator I In Manitoba

Requires A:

Water and Wastewater Treatment: Operator In Training

Full Time Permanent Position

This position requires the successful candidate to provide daily control of all water and wastewater treatment operations within our facility to ensure that residents have safe and clean water in accordance with Provincial and Municipal Legislation, policies and standards.

QUALIFICATIONS*:

• Class 5 Manitoba Driver’s Licence is required
• Completion of Grade 12 is required
• Ability to obtain the following classifications:

- Class I Water Treatment - Class I Wastewater Collection

- Class I Water Distribution - Class I Wastewater Treatment

• 5th Class Power Engineer Certification or capable of obtaining
• Must be mechanically inclined
• Ability to work with minimal Supervision
• Must be comfortable working in confined spaces

DUTIES*:

• Assist Operators in all aspects of plant operations
• Gaining relevant knowledge of legislation and safety regulations
• Assists in recording and maintaining statistical data from gauges
• Be available for the on-call rotation within the department.
• Excellent communication and problem solving skills
• Proficient computer skills with applicable software (Microsoft Office)

WAGE RATE: As Per Collective Agreement $25.43 per hour

HOURS OF WORK: Monday to Friday – 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
