Requirements

• Working towards an Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or equivalent degree or diploma with experience
• Willing to get your hands dirty and at times, work in an industrial environment

• Comfortable working in a dynamic work environment and able to work on site, and drive on site in various weather conditions
• Motivated self-starter with the ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with a capability to communicate complex ideas to all levels
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)

Responsibilities

• Participation in the health and safety programs of Teck to ensure that everyone on site goes home safe and healthy every day
• Work closely with the Mine Analyst to support mine communications systems and technologies on mining equipment including:
  • In-Pit Wi-Fi
  • Mobile equipment computers and fleet management systems
  • Private LTE networks
  • In-pit surveillance cameras
  • Autonomous haul truck systems
  • Two-way radio systems
  • High-precision GPS corrections radio systems
  • Network hardware configuration and installation
• Responsible for the maintenance of applications that are interactive with the operators to collect data/analytics that are used to improve operations

• Create and evaluate innovative ideas and technologies to help improve the way we do business

All students will be required to complete pre-employment drug testing prior to commencing work. Proof of a valid work permit will also be required, if applicable.
