THE TEAM
The mission of the Corporate Communications Department is to increase awareness on Aritzia’s business objectives, performance, purpose, and momentum while elevating the brand’s corporate profile and relevance.
THE OPPORTUNITY
Aritzia is growing and our Corporate Communications team is growing with it. This is a unique opportunity to be part of the team responsible for managing media relations with business and trade publications to inform on Aritzia’s business performance and purpose against company objectives, while elevating the brand. You will play a pivotal role in overseeing how Aritzia’s story is shared with our stakeholders and community, inclusive of executive communications, business and trade communications, corporate purpose communications, and media relations. And, with people at the heart of everything you do, you will support your high-potential people to grow rewarding careers at Aritzia — while enjoying one yourself.
THE ROLE
As the Director, Corporate Communications, you will lead the team to:
  • Develop and optimize a corporate communications strategy that reinforces company objectives while strengthening confidence in Aritzia’s business performance and purpose
  • Clearly define and elevate the executive leadership team’s profiles
  • Elevate Aritzia’s business profile, reputation, and relevance in top-tier business & trade media
  • Clearly communicate Aritzia’s Corporate Purpose through its Community and Culture-driven values and initiatives
  • Build and strengthen relationships with top-tier business and trade media through intentional activations and proactive outreach
  • Support the function of high-quality external communications
  • Work with the appropriate Business Support partners to seamlessly lead the day-to-day function of the department in support of corporate objectives, while enabling progressive career development and an incredible employee experience
THE QUALIFICATIONS
The Director, Corporate Communications has:
  • Proven and best-in-class skills, education, and/or applicable certifications in Corporate Communications
  • Experience liaising with top-tier North American business and trade media and managing corporate media relations
  • Experience managing crisis communications
  • A commitment to learn, apply, champion, and enrich Aritzia's Values, Business and People Leadership principles
  • The skills to collaborate strategically with cross-functional partners in the pursuit of shared business outcomes
  • The ability to set clear objectives and design a strategy that inspires the team
  • A dedication to quality and investing in results and new business opportunities that add value at all times
