The Ministry of Corrections and Policing, Regina Correctional Centre is seeking a highly skilled, self-directed and motivated individual with strong teamwork, interpersonal and problem solving skills. We are seeking a candidate who will demonstrate a strong commitment to the supervision of Correctional Officers, inmates, offender units and the facility.

As a Correctional Officer II, you must be a positive role model who will maintain the integrity of the Justice System and the people it serves. In this challenging position you will supervise Correctional Officers who provide custody, control and supervision to inmates in the Correctional Centre. You will coordinate, assign and prioritize your employees work, providing advice and guidance on work procedures and special security routines, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures. As a compassionate and respectful supervisor, you must ensure your responsibilities and those of your staff are performed in a safe, cooperative and effective manner. You will be responsible for operational leadership ensuring facility security and safety standards are instituted and maintained.

You will provide care, custody and supervision of inmates at the Regina Correctional Centre through observation by enforcing rules, regulations, policies and procedures. You will assign and prioritize the work of the Correctional Officers as well as provide advice and guidance on work procedures and special security routines and ensure those procedures are being followed. You will ensure the work done by yourself and the staff you supervise is performed in a safe, cooperative and effective manner. You must be able to detect any changes in daily routines, surroundings and individual or group behavior that may indicate potentially dangerous situations and breaches of security.

You will be required to search, gain control and maintain custody of illegal contraband by following policy and procedure. You will require knowledge of the Ministry's operating system CJIMS and will be required to write and review detailed reports.
