2 ND STEP: $79,588.60 per annum

AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY:

Reporting to the Coordinator, Recreation Business Systems, this position is responsible for providing analysis, recommendations and support for Recreation systems, in order to ensure optimum functionality and configuration that supports user requirements. This role provides excellent customer service while protecting the integrity of Recreation systems.

Business Analysis:
  • Determines operational objectives studying business functions, gathering information and user requirements, identifying problems, evaluating options and recommending solutions
  • Consults with functional and management staff to identify, define and document procedures and problems, and identify issues with system functionality
  • Collates, analyses and interprets data pertaining to complex problems and/or unexpected situations
  • Implements approved process improvements, using project management methodology to document processes, functionality, timelines and expected results
  • Provides analytical advice and assimilates data for statistical overviews; troubleshoots emerging issues to ensure prompt resolution within the confines of system accountability

Day-to-Day Operational Support & System Management:
  • Acts as the subject matter expert, problem solving and responding to day to day user inquiries, taking appropriate action in a timely manner supporting system maximization
  • Conducts regular reporting and system audits to maintain system integrity and identifies deviations for appropriate review or disciplinary measures
  • Ensures required functionality and reporting capability meet the needs of the Corporation and end users
  • Ensures system and user compliance with policies, procedures and methodologies, by providing ongoing analysis, system maintenance and functional support
  • Assists with system upgrades, including testing and communication of continuous improvements of the software system
  • Configures changes such as but not limited to fees, memberships, programs, Point of Sale, equipment, GL accounts, accounting settings, subsidy, user interface and reporting requirements within the system parameters
  • Makes recommendations relating to software development changes to ensure seamless system operation

Best Practices:
  • Keeps abreast of emerging software development and upgrades, and makes applicable recommendations
  • Continuously reviews industry best practices to identify improvements in alignment with the strategic direction of Recreation Division
  • Maintains current documentation of all system procedures and functions within Recreation, including testing procedures for new features

User Support:
  • Provides user support and troubleshoots functionality issues; advises on problems pertaining to system usage
  • Provides reference guides in various media forms (i.e. written, video, etc.) for users and provides training as required; provides help desk support pertaining to relevant system requests

Project team member:
  • Participates on project teams and focus groups for system improvement and upgrades
  • Works with team members to identify opportunities and risks to current and forecasted projects
  • Communicates business objectives and articulates end user needs to committees, ensuring the system is not compromised with improper usage
  • Co-leads monthly meetings in collaboration with IT Division
  • Liaises with third party vendors on issues of system capability requests and development and identification of solutions

SELECTION CRITERIA:

  • High school (Grade 12) graduation plus an additional program of three to four years in Computer Science, Business Management, Information Technology, Bachelor of Commerce or Bachelor of Technology or equivalent
  • Non-probationary valid Ontario Class G driver’s licence
  • Over two (2) years up to and including four (4) years in systems analysis and business support
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint & Office 365
  • PerfectMind software experience considered an asset
  • Experience with Project Management and/or coordinating the work of others considered an asset
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with an emphasis on customer service
  • Well-developed organizational and time management skills with a keen attention to detail
  • Demonstrated sound decision making abilities and problem solving skills; self-motivated with an ambition to achieve goals and milestones
  • Ability to work independently, as part of a project team, with end users and/or vendors.
