The Ministry of Seniors, Community and Social Services is currently looking to fill Administrative Assistant positions in the Wetaskiwin, Lloydminster and Drumheller locations and below are their Job Responsibilities:
We are looking for self-motivated individuals with excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail to join our team. In this position, you will provide a wide variety of administrative functions focusing on supporting Albertans to navigate the Income Support and Assured Income for the Severely Handicapped (AISH) Programs and provide information on community services.
As part of a collaborative administrative team, you will follow applicable ministry policies and procedures. You will also play a significant role as a front-line first contact and will greet/meet Albertans in person and over the telephone, and must be able to display a sound knowledge of departmental procedures and processes when assisting clients.
Qualifications
- Administrative Support 3 - High School diploma plus a minimum of one year of related administrative experience
- Administrative Support 4 - High School diploma plus a minimum of two years of related administrative experience
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
- Minimum of one year of work experience using Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Required skills: verbal and written communication skills, client service, attention to detail
Equivalencies will be considered on the basis of 1 year of experience for 1 year of education or 1 year of education for 1 year of experience.
The Ministry of Seniors, Community and Social Services is currently looking to fill Administrative Assistant positions in the Wetaskiwin, Lloydminster and Drumheller locations and following are considered as Assets for the Position.
- Knowledge in administrative policies, procedures, programs and guidelines applying to division operations (eg. File management procedures, invoice processing and financial administration).
- Knowledge with Government business plans, goals, strategies, and priorities as they relate to the mandates.
- Knowledge with Alberta Government social-based assistance programs, legislation, regulations and policies.
- Operation of office equipment and related ability to troubleshoot problems.
- Knowledge in Business productivity tools and automated systems (eg: Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer, Outlook, AIMS, ALIS, Central Region Information Storage (CRIS), Loomis, Exclaim, Recoveries System, IMAGIS, LISA/CCD, Mobius, TOI, MyAgent, OSSI and ORRS).
- General knowledge of Service Canada’s programs and services.

Administrative Support 3
Temporary/Permanent: $1,571.34 to $1,912.15 bi-weekly ($41,011 - $49,907/year)
Wages: $21.67 to $26.37 per hour
Administrative Support 4
Temporary/Permanent: $1,729.71 to $2,113.42 bi-weekly ($45,145 - $55,160/year)
Wages: $23.86 to $29.15 per hour
