New Job Water Treatment Operator & Town Maintenance In Newfoundland And Labrador

Summary

Water – This position will involve monitoring hazardous chemicals such as chlorine and propane. Responsible for making repairs as necessary and continually monitoring the town water supply at 3 water treatment plants, and throughout town in accordance with Government guidelines.

Town Maintenance – This position will involve assisting with carpentry, plumbing, painting, mowing lawns, & cleaning as necessary.

• Maintain inventory
• Potable Water Experience
• Flushing hydrants
• Problem Resolution
• Able to use power tools
• Contact Suppliers – re: Parts ordering

Must be willing to:

• Complete Water Certification Exam after a period of 1 year
• Complete Fire Aid/CPR & WHIMIS
• Complete Confined Spaces training
• Respond to Emergency calls when called upon to do so
• Work some weekends as per schedule

Experience

• Currently hold or in the process of or willing to obtaining Class 1 Water Treatment Certification
• Followed applicable regulations to maintain safety of the town water system and personnel
• Measure out chemicals like chlorine for use in disinfecting water
• Daily water system & meter reading calculations
• Previously used ride on lawn tractor
