What you will do?
The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure is seeking individuals to join the Saint John District as an Operations Worker II working in the Construction Branch.

As an Operations Worker II, you will work under the direction of the Senior Resident Engineer and be responsible to:

  • Weigh and check materials; verify and record contents on ticket.
  • Assist technicians in setting up instruments and targets.
  • Mark benchmarks, shoulder pickets, shoulder offset, right of ways, back of ditch stakes, grades and operate measuring lines.
  • Ensure truck is properly equipped with supplies and equipment.
  • Ensure tools are clean and in good operating order.

Work environment

  • Office location: Various locations, please indicate for which location you wish to be considered
  • 40-hour work week, with variable hours, including, evenings and weekends, when required
  • Working on job sites in all weather conditions, exposure to dust and fumes
  • Ability to lift and carry survey equipment and walking over uneven or sloping terrain
  • Some travel within the region will be required

Essential qualifications

  • Completion of grade ten (10) and a minimum of two (2) years related work experience.
  • Possession of a valid Class 5 driver's license as issued by the Province of New Brunswick.

An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

Written and spoken competence in English is required. Please state your language capability.
