Scope

We’re looking for a motivated and hardworking labourer to join our team. Being able to work in an active and energetic high paced work environment, within the Parks, Recreation and Culture team and support in a variety of construction and maintenance duties, while operating small equipment and power hand tools.
Shifts may be scheduled anytime between the hours of 6:30am to 9:30pm from Sunday to Saturday. If the facility is booked for an event, hours will vary and shifts could be scheduled any time during a 24-hour period.
Responsibilities

Works on a variety of projects and tasks. Performs manual and semi-skilled tasks, repairs, and maintenance of facilities. Cleans and maintains facilities, equipment, and tools (this includes but not limited to washrooms, paths, parking lots). Uses non-power tools such as rakes, shovels etc., power tools and/or certain pieces of equipment. Records information regarding work completed. Demonstrates safe work practices. Sweeps, cleans, and performs other duties associated with maintenance of grounds, buildings, storage areas, parking lots, and sidewalks. Assists crew members in performing their duties. Interacting with the public, handling questions and complaints in a tactful and professional manner. Sets up tables, chairs and equipment for various events and programs Cleans Facilites as required, after events and programs. Performs other job-related duties as required.
Qualifications

Completion of Grade 12 plus relevant experience and training.
Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License with a safe driving record.
Have relevant training and experience performing manual labour.
Be able to complete work in all types of weather conditions.
