POSITION OVERVIEW
The Associate Principal join one of our funds as a professional committed to the investment career, who will start sourcing potential deals, oversee their due diligence, and take responsibility for their performance in the portfolio.
The Growth Venture Co-Investment Fund (GVCF) team operates within BDC Capital and is focused on growing and scaling the next generation of Canadian venture-backed champions. Currently investing out of the GVCF II 350M$ growth stage fund, our participations range from $5M to 25M in late stage (>$10M in revenues) venture capital backed companies in Canada, across a broad range of technology sectors. The GVCF team currently manages 26 active late stage companies. Total AUM is over 500M$.
In this role, you will develop your ability to lead a deal end-to-end. You will manage key team members in due diligence and investee support, contributing to a portfolio whose investments ultimately shape the future of the Canadian economy. You are expected to understand the big picture of the investment process, represent BDC Capital professionally before its partners, and bridge the ability to coach Analysts and Associates, with the ability to manage upwards and progressively take Partner responsibilities.
