POSITION:
The District of Tofino is looking for a qualified candidate to fill the position of Temporary Accounting Clerk I.

Reporting to the Manager of Financial Services, the Accounting Clerk I (Payroll Clerk) performs accounting work of intermediate complexity which includes maintaining accounting records, creating journal entries, performing account analysis and preparing a variety of financial reports. This position is required to exercise considerable independent judgement in carrying out job duties and will focus on payroll administration, budget and audit preparations, and grant administration.

HOURS OF WORK
This is a temporary position based on 37.5 hours per week with a start date of July 31, 2023 and ending 12-18 months from that day, with the possibility of extension. The hourly wage for this position is $33.00 plus an additional 15.2% in lieu of benefits, vacation and statutory holidays. This position is subject to a probationary period during which time the wage will be $29.70. This is a union position and is subject to the terms and conditions of the collective agreement between CUPE Local 118 and the District of Tofino.
