BECOME PART OF OUR TEAM

This position is responsible for performing financial, operational and internal control audits.

This position reports to the Manager, Internal Audit.

YOU’LL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:
Execute field work for all assigned operational audits.

Perform operational audit activities, ensure timely completion and maximize efficiency of the audit approach.

Participate, along with internal audit management, in identifying internal control weaknesses, financial and operational risks and business process improvement opportunities.

Work in collaboration with the business units and process owner management to inform, assist and improve their internal control environments (as opposed to pure “policing”).

Use cost-effective audit management tools prolifically in all operational audit projects (data mining and analytics).

Communicate audit results and ensure they are understood, fairly presented and properly documented.

Execute on-demand special projects or unplanned audit activities.

THIS ROLE IS A GOOD FIT IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES:

Three to five years of experience in public accounting or comparable private sector internal audit experience, including the manufacturing and / or engineering industries.

Knowledge of and experience with the application of the Institute of Internal Auditors’ (IIA) International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF) and Canadian Auditing Standards is an asset.

Knowledge of and experience with data analytical auditing procedures, including available technological tools (Excel, SAP Lumira, Tableau, and computer-assisted auditing tools) is an asset.

Comprehensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS), Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) as evidenced by a professional accounting designation (CPA) is an asset.

Self-starter who continually strives for a high level of performance and can work with minimal supervision.

Able to research issues, analyze problems, synthesize information and make recommendations.

Creative problem solver.

Able to communicate effectively orally and in writing in both French and English.
