HSIAR sets out to exercise effective governance over data resources, while enabling timely and secure access to data, supporting an integrated, modernized model of information sharing across the health sector. The Division leads the overarching provincial analytic strategy and approach, and performs comprehensive, integrated analytics, research and evaluation of health sector performance. To ensure a consistent and timely approach to health system evaluation and continuous improvement, the Division is responsible for the development of the overarching policy framework and monitoring of outcomes and impacts of health system policy direction.

As Research Officer, you will manage invoicing related to Product Listing Agreements with manufacturers. This will involve providing input into current negotiations, calculating rebates based on contract specifics, responding to stakeholder queries, forecasting expected drug utilization and rebates, and managing multiple projects and deadlines. You are also responsible for streamlining operations, including introducing automation in terms of code development and reporting processes. Given the size of Product Listing Agreements contribution to PharmaCare budget this is a high-profile role.

Job Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Health Information Science, Computer Science, Economics, Statistics, or similar related field AND a minimum of 1 years progressive related experience; OR
  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Science, Computer Science, Economics, Statistics, or similar related field AND a minimum of 3 years progressive related experience; OR
  • Formal post-secondary coursework in data warehousing principles and techniques, statistical methods/analysis and business intelligence AND 5 years of progressive related experience.
Related Experience must include:
  • Designing and implementing complex statistical analysis and/or economic modelling projects; using modeling results to make recommendations and inform decision making.
  • Experience with analytical and extraction languages (such as SQL, R, Python) to write queries to extract and manipulate/ analyse data.
  • Experience in automation and/or process improvement and streamlining

Preference may be given to candidates with:

  • Expertise and demonstrated experience in health economics or health statistical analysis.
