The LSI Safety Branch is the lead for achieving compliance in health and safety in workplaces, and technical safety of regulated equipment in public places. We strive to help build understanding about what is required to achieve compliance by providing current and accurate information while also ensuring compliance is achieved.

About Our Opportunity


Reporting to the Operations Manager, Safety Branch, the Orientation and Training Coordinator is responsible for the Safety Branch Training Program that supports Branch objectives/programs and employees in all regions across the Province. In this role, you will be responsible for multiple aspects of training program development and delivery, including needs assessments, course development, implementation, evaluations, and training program audits.

Primary Accountabilities


Key responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Collaborating and partnering with both internal and external partners to acquire, maintain, and develop resources in support of the branch training program and employee needs
  • Researching and actively applying new technologies and learning methodologies to enhance the skills, knowledge, and abilities of the branch workforce
  • Designing and facilitating orientation for all new hires, ensuring they are aware of and effectively trained on departmental and corporate policies, mandates, and procedures
  • Coordinating logistical and administrative functions required to ensure training is successfully delivered and records remain current

Qualifications and Experience


This may be the right opportunity for you if you have a Bachelor’s degree and at least five (5) years related experience utilizing adult learning principles and methodologies to design and facilitate inclusive learning experiences that recognize diverse needs of adult learners. Experience with E-design software such as Articulate (or equivalent) is considered an asset. Effective communication skills (verbal and written), creativity, and managing resources in a dynamic and timeline driven environment are also important factors.


An acceptable combination of training and experience may also be considered.


We will assess the above qualifications and competencies using one or more of the following tools: written examination, standardized tests, oral presentations, interview(s), and reference checks.

This is a Term employment opportunity with an anticipated end date of October 27, 2023. The appointment status (‘term’, ‘temporary’ or ‘casual’) is dependent on the start date of the successful candidate.

Pay Grade: PR 13

Salary Range: $2,469.30 - $3,001.65 Bi-Weekly
