Family Justice Services Division (FJSD) delivers programs and services that promote the timely and just resolution of family disputes within a comprehensive family justice system. Through community-based Family Justice Centres and Justice Access Centres, FJSD provides various in person and virtual programs and services, including initial needs determination, dispute resolution, Section 211 Family Law Act reports, and Parenting After Separation online courses.

Justice Access Centres (JAC) can assist with a wide range of family law issues, such as separation or divorce and provide help with referrals, resources, and information for certain Supreme Court civil law issues. In addition to the general services provided by the Victoria Justice Access Centre, this JAC also delivers services required under the Provincial Court Family Rules as part of a family court process in Victoria. Under general supervision of the Office Manager, the Office Assistant is the first point of contact for the public and must be able to effectively interact to provide key information on Family Justice Services; offer information to assist families to determine their needs; and book appointments as required. The Office Assistant is responsible for performing day to day administrative and business functions in support of the Office Manager and other staff members.

Job Requirements:

  • Secondary School graduation or equivalent (for example, GED) plus 1 year of recent clerical/administrative support experience.
  • An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
  • Recent experience and/or training in keyboarding, word processing, spreadsheet application, and other standard computer applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.


Preference may be given to candidates with one or more of the following:

  • More years of related experience.
  • Client service experience in a human service field (e.g., Indigenous organizations, community services agencies, legal services, court services).
  • An administrative certificate or diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution.
  • Experience with data entry into a case management system.
  • Experience and/or training with filing systems or records management.
  • Applicants who identify as Indigenous (First Nations status or non-status, Inuit and/or Metis) with the required combination of education and experience.


Willingness Statement:

  • Occasional travel may be required (e.g., training, meetings). Transportation arrangements must meet operational requirements.
