Job Requirements:


Education/Qualifications:

  • Completion of the twelfth grade, supplemented by courses in the use of digital creation technologies or equivalent experience. Completion of some library related courses would be an asset.

Experience:

  • Two years related experience providing customer service in a library or technology environment. Strong hands-on experience with digital creation technologies such as audio and video recording equipment, audio and video editing software, ebook publishing software, and digitization equipment.
  • Experience providing instruction in one-on-one and group learning environments

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment involving varied digital technologies.
  • Ability to effectively instruct users in one-on-one and group settings.
  • Experience using a range of digital creation software such as Microsoft Photos, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe PremierePro, Audacity, Reaper, Sigil and Adobe InDesign, or equivalents.
  • Experience with audio and video recording equipment such as sound booths, green screens, video cameras, LED lighting, audio mixers and microphones.
  • Experience with digitization equipment such as flatbed photo/slide/negative scanners and tape to-digital cassette equipment for audio, VHS, and 8mm media
  • Ability to plan, organize and carry out assigned tasks and responsibilities
  • Works collaboratively with staff within the Programming & Learning team and from a variety of departments.
  • Working knowledge of the objectives, organization, procedures, services and resources of the Library; actively seeks information about current trends and leading practices in areas of responsibility.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as analytical and problem solving skills Strong commitment to serving clients; open, pragmatic and responsive to clients and community
  • Innovative and flexible in a rapidly changing library environment with the ability to assist staff to participate in and be open to change.
  • Ability to actively promote the service of the lab to the patrons and work with them to meet their needs and expectations

Week 1 and 3:

Monday 11am – 7pm, Thursday 12pm – 4pm, Friday 1pm – 5pm, Sunday 1:10pm - 6:10pm


Week 2 and 4:

Thursday 12pm – 4pm, Friday 1pm – 5pm, Saturday 10:10am - 6:10pm, Sunday 1:10pm - 6:10pm
