Miller Paving Atlantic, based in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, provides the public and private sectors with road construction, paving, road and structure rehabilitation, engineering construction, aggregate- based materials, highway operations and maintenance services.

Summary

As an Estimating Student, you will have the chance to work on complex infrastructure while growing your career. You will be part of a team working on proposals and projects utilizing our expertise in the industry while utilizing emerging technologies to enhance our projects. Collaboration is a key strength with our APD team, and you will have the opportunity to work alongside our multi-disciplinary team members to develop high-quality designs and documentation, as well as work in innovative technologies and BIM.

Main Responsibilities:

• Perform detailed quantity take-offs
• Assist estimators in completing detailed estimates
• Solicit and receive quotes from suppliers and subcontractors
• Able to highlight clashes
• Coordinate with other project disciplines and engineering designers

Requirements:

• 
  Working towards an undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering
• Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environment
• Possess strong mathematical and computer skills (experience with Microsoft Excel, BlueBeam, CPM Scheduling programs, and Bid2Win, or equivalent programs). Experience with AutoCad is desired, but not a requirement
• Candidates must possess a strong work ethic
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Work independently as well as part of a team
• Good attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies
• Vehicle and valid driver’s license
