We are seeking a dynamic, energetic individual with excellent customer service and library skills along with public library experience to be a part of our team.
The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Branch Manager this role is responsible for a variety of services including borrower services, reference assistance, readers’ advisory, and user-support of library technologies and digital resources. The Branch Librarian will also assist with the ongoing maintenance and promotion of the branch collections and the delivery of programs. This role is also responsible for creating a welcoming and inclusive library environment and may act as Person in Charge (PIC) at the branch.
The Ideal Candidate
We are seeking individuals with training and knowledge in the above, typically acquired through the completion of a post-graduate degree in Library and Information Studies/Science. Our ideal candidates have a minimum one year library experience, preferable in a public library and two years in a customer-focused setting with some experience in facilitating programs for all ages. We are seeking people with excellent communication and customer service skills as well as superior interpersonal skills including the ability to work effectively in a team environment and foster effective working relationships.
This position offers a salary range of $68,350.55- $82,513.23 plus a competitive benefit package.
