Role


The Team Supervisor supervises a group home team focused on enhancing quality of life for Individuals with developmentally disabilities. The Position participates in all facets of rehabilitation, care and program development to meet Individual’s needs and provincial rehabilitation professional standards such that Individuals are provided with a healthy/safe home environment. It advocates for Individuals to ensure their specific needs and interests are achieved as well as facilitating an optimum level of participation and personal fulfillment.

The position coordinates, plans, supervises operations and staff, administers treatments/medications, assists with frontline duties, and completes the administrative/financial duties required for the effective operation of a group home team.


  • Enhanced quality of life for Individuals
  • Directs rehabilitative programs using a holistic approach and works directly with the Individual in the group home toward meeting their needs and desires.
  • Coordinates the creation, development, implementation and evaluation of plans, programs and activities for Individuals, both at home and in the community. Facilitates family involvement in these processes.
  • Networks with community services and businesses on behalf of Individuals to create socially valued roles and opportunities for their participation in society.
  • Discusses the Individuals’ health issues with Physicians and other healthcare professionals.
  • Monitors the health and well being of Individuals, administering medications and treatments. Evaluates, documents and adjusts medications/treatments as required.
  • Monitors personal and healthcare procedures/practices to ensure they are in accordance with assessed needs/plans, established practices and procedures. Responds to emergency calls and requests for assistance.
  • Monitors quality of care and of life, ensuring the needs of each Individual are addressed

  • Quality home environment for Individuals
  • Supervises direct care, healthcare support, auxiliary and group home staff including recruitment, orientation, ongoing training, scheduling, performance goals, performance evaluation, guidance, coaching/mentoring, dispute/conflict resolution and recommending disciplinary action.
  • Supervises the daily operation and activities of the community living home including organizing the work, monitoring workload, coordination shift coverage and completing administrative duties (i.e. petty cash, supplies, authorizes expenses from trust accounts, etc.).
  • Oversees all administrative activities necessary to support the team including budget, expenditures/purchasing, records management, asset inventory, roster development and menu planning.

Qualifications


Minimum Requirements Standards

Directly related two (2) year diploma or a degree related to the position assignment and two (2) years of related experience


The following will be considered Assets:

  • Position must be skilled in supervising staff and have good communication, conflict resolution, interpersonal, organizational and time management skills.
  • Position works in a 24/7 environment hence shift work required.
  • Position requires manual dexterity and the ability of moving and transferring Individuals.
  • Drivers license required.

Salary

$2,497.09 to $3,090.93 bi-weekly ($64,924 - $80,364/ year).

Notes


Hours of work are 38.75hours weekly. Successful candidate would be expected to work on weekend shift.
