QUALIFICATIONS


  • Minimum education MB Grade 12 Equivalence
  • Eligible for and maintains licensure to practice as a Security Officer (Guard) in the province of Manitoba
  • Post-secondary education completion in a security related field such as; Police Studies, Criminology or Certification as a Healthcare Protection Administrator or equivalency of related experience and supervisor experience is preferred
  • Certificated or qualification for Mental Health First Aid, and de-escalation/NVCI certification
  • Security Officer Instructor/Trainer certification for Use of Force, Handcuffing, Security Investigation, Documentation/Reporting and Room/Subject Searches
  • Certification to instruct or teach the MB Private Investigators and Security Guards Program an asset
  • Proficient in the operation of CCTV and/or Card Access Control Systems, Alarm Systems, Traffic Control, security investigation, report writing and documentation
  • Possess organizational skills and capacity for security leadership roles including planning, development, operations and implementation.
  • 3-5 years of professional or supervisory experience in a Health Care setting
  • Province of Manitoba Class 5 Drivers License, or equivalent from province of residence, and access to a personal vehicle to provide service within Prairie Mountain Health
  • Proficiency with Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint), as well as Internet applications and other Information Technology

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Security Operations Supervisor shall be accountable to the Manager DEPP/Security Services and is responsible for the development, coordination, implementation, evaluation and operation of the Security Services Program within Prairie Mountain Health.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Overview:

  • Responsible for the safe administration and operation of Security Services Program throughout Prairie Mountain Health.
  • Monitors appropriate financial, human resources, equipment and environmental issues of Security Services Program within Prairie Mountain Health.
  • Oversees the development of policies and procedures related to Security Services Program.
  • Instrumental in the planning and development of a sustainable program.
  • Participates in portfolio/facility/regional team structure.
  • Develops and maintains functional relationships with other departments/programs.
  • Plans for continued professional development of staff and self.
  • Promotes positive public relations.
  • Operationalizes Prairie Mountain Health’s Vision, Mission and Values statements.
  • Promotes the quality dimensions of access, safety, effectiveness and satisfaction in the provision of Prairie Mountain Health’s services.
