A career in Procurement, within Internal Firm Services, will provide you with the opportunity to develop and manage the procurement of all goods and services required by PwC for operational and strategic purposes. As a part of the team, you’ll assist in developing our standard practices and compliance infrastructure, managing relationships for both internal clients and suppliers to aid in the strategic selection of suppliers, supplier diversity, and contract negotiations.

Purpose-led work you’ll be part of

As a National Meetings & Events Planner, you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • The National Meetings & Events Planner will assist MES planners on specific events to determine the parameters and procedures for an event

  • Provides a concierge planning service from conception to completion for in house events and external venues

  • Sources required services and vendors both internally and externally to execute the event

  • The National Meetings & Events Planner will coordinate list management and communications around the event. Coordinates and manages logistics of the event

  • Maintains a visible role within the Firm and to outside parties, including suppliers and other planners

  • Maintains contacts and network opportunities within the event planning profession

  • Assist Senior Manager and Manager, MES to maintain and update cost savings and other MES financial reports as required

  • Process event contracts and related forms for MES planners

  • The National Meetings & Events Planner will manage collateral database including managing requests, updating database records, shipping of materials, updating meeting collateral requirements

  • Manage event registration as required

  • Tabulating and consolidating reports for event sponsors or meeting planners

  • Process all event invoices including processing appropriate cheque requisitions for finance

Experiences and skills you’ll use to solve

  • External business experience, with demonstrated skills in event management

  • Experience with virtual events platforms an asset

  • Experience working on a virtual team

  • Demonstrable strong supplier management skills

  • The applicant can expect exposure to confidential matters on certain projects and must maintain a high degree of sensitivity in terms of the handling of any material or information

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills

  • An enthusiastic team player who embraces a diverse workload

  • A demonstrated commitment to valuing differences and working alongside diverse people and perspectives

  • Frequent overtime hours, which may involve early mornings, evenings and weekends

  • Travel may be involved to support in-person events
