As a Head of Product, Digital Payments you will help grow, inspire, and lead our Digital Payments, Loyalty and Blockchain Product teams. Reporting to the VP of Digital Service, this is a key role responsible for setting the strategic direction and implementation of strategy for digital payment, loyalty and Blockchain capabilities that is rooted in addressing the needs of our customers and further Scotiabank’s digital mandate.

Is this role right for you?

  • Drive short and long-term product vision, strategy, goal setting, and execution for digital payment, loyalty and blockchain journeys
  • Accountable to manage and deliver on journey roadmaps
  • Engage & cultivate relationships with key stakeholders from enterprise payments, retail payments, security, fraud, contact center, branch, customer experience and other digital journeys to deliver enterprise-wide solutions
  • Prioritizes, negotiates, and remove obstacles to ensure quality digital product launches
  • Collaborate with the Engineering & Design teams, providing them business context and engaging them to build the right products on time
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.


Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?

  • 8+ years of experience in a role building customer facing digital products, preferably focused on payments
  • A proven knowledge of payment tech ecosystem and trends including Blockchain and digital currency
  • Managed multiple technology products and digital journeys end-to-end, from inception to delivery
  • Experienced in building a product vision, rooted in customer needs in your past roles and have successfully achieved it through a sound execution strategy
  • Experienced leader in running high performing teams, grooming strong talent, furthering strong product management principles and building a work environment of trust, creativity and inclusivity allowing team to bring their whole self to work
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and have a flair for getting things done with decision making rooted in data
  • Ability to manage multiple portfolios, teams and stakeholders autonomously
  • Responsible to chair or represent at VP+ Steering Committees or Working Groups
  • Ability to speak to and influence all levels of the organization, including the most senior executives. Expert at managing difficult conversations at any level; prepared with data, information, and a point of view in all conversations.
  • Establishes systems and processes to ensure ability to rapidly respond to information requests or issues/problems as they arise. Can quickly and confidently make tough decisions by leveraging available information, research, considerations, and data sources.
  • Can quickly shift focus and context to solve issues or challenges as they arise.
  • Ability to prioritize work while multi-tasking on several high-profile projects with a keen eye on details
  • Curious and experimental mindset to drive innovation amidst uncertainty

Work arrangements: Fully remote / Hybrid

The way we work is changing. This is a fully remote role, where you’ll be working exclusively from the comfort of your own home. While we’re hiring for all shifts, we’re flexible and will try our best to accommodate your preferred shift.
The role is currently virtual but will eventually be based in our office as requirements change, with optional partial virtual work.
