Within the Environmental Protection Division of the Ministry of Environment, the Environmental Assessment and Stewardship Branch is responsible for managing the provincial environmental assessment process and overseeing recycling and waste stewardship programs in the province.


We are seeking a highly-organized, energetic and proactive person to provide administrative support to the Executive Director and to the branch. We provide a fast-paced and high-volume work environment with diverse job expectations.


The successful candidate will be a confident self-starter who demonstrates reliability, flexibility and professionalism. You will be courteous, attentive to detail and capable of meeting new challenges while supporting a team environment and maintaining a positive attitude.


This position has overall responsibility for the efficient operation of the administrative support provided to the branch. In addition to providing reception service, the successful candidate will be responsible for creating, editing, formatting and proofreading a variety of documents and correspondence using a variety of software packages such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.


You will manage electronic calendars for the Executive Director and managers by coordinating and scheduling meetings. On occasion, you may be required to take minutes at meetings and subsequently transcribe the minutes. You will also establish and maintain a filing system, set up conference calls and coordinate travel arrangements. You will use sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential information.
