Job Description:

The Electrician will plan, lay-out, assemble, install, test, troubleshoot and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, motors, control devices and related equipment to ensure the day to day operation at the Lake Louise Ski Resort runs smoothly and efficiently.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Strong Low Voltage Control system trouble shooting skills with PLC experience
  • Industrial and commercial experience a must with the ability to work well under pressure
  • Build temporary and permanent electrical services, up to 2000 Amps
  • Installation and troubleshooting of fire alarm systems, sewage systems, data, furnaces and kitchen equipment
  • Install lighting fixtures, receptacles, conduits, feeders and other electrical equipment
  • Active involvement in the routine and non-routine maintenance as well as upgrades to all ski lifts, snow making infrastructure, lodges and buildings, this involves a considerable amount of outdoor, on-mountain tasks
  • Detailed record keeping of routine and non-routine inspections, maintenance, and projects
  • Follow work orders and project descriptions accurately
  • Diagnose, locate the cause of, and repair malfunctioning systems, apparatus and components using various test equipment
  • Maintain, repair, test and install generators, electric motors, transformers, reactors, solar charges, storage batteries
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, drawings and electrical code specifications to determine proper installation of electrical equipment

Job Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Licensed Journeyman Electrician with strong trade skills
  • Valid Driver’s license (class 5), with experience driving vehicles, ATV’s and/or snowmobiles
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Reliable and punctual with the ability to work overtime and holidays
  • Self-motivated, able to work unsupervised and to the highest quality of standards
  • Previous work experience in the ski industry is a strong asset
  • Able to work at heights in inclement weather conditions for extended periods of time
  • Must possess accurate verbal and written communication skills, along with basic computer skills
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs and have good physical fitness
  • Intermediate to Advanced skiing/snowboarding ability
  • Good mechanical skills are required
  • Able to prioritize tasks for efficiency and complete other tasks as assigned
  • Safety oriented and able to follow all LLSR policies and procedures
  • A police background check, from your home country or province, will be required upon commencement of employment
  • First aid certificate an asset
