As the Development Coordinator, you will be a contributing member of the Service Provision and Land Planning Team within the Recreation and Social Programs Business Unit. Primary duties include:
  • Prepare a variety of recreation and social programs studies and plans such as recreation needs assessments and emerging sport studies.
  • Review, evaluate, and provide recommendations on local area plans, land use, and subdivision applications.
  • Interface and negotiate with consultants, developers, the community, and government officials on all aspects of the planning and development of indoor and outdoor recreation facilities and amenities.
  • Represent the Service Provision and Land Planning Team on a variety of corporate and inter-governmental working teams.
Qualifications
  • A degree in Planning or a related field combined with at least 5 years of related experience.
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
  • Preference will be given to applicants who are eligible for membership with the Canadian Institute of Planners (CIP) and have previous experience working with Corporate Planning Applications Group (CPAG).
  • Project management experience is considered to be an asset.
  • You have a high degree of political sensitivity and applied knowledge in the areas of planning policy, by-law preparation and application, parks master planning, and development response.
  • Well-developed communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills along with the ability to work effectively with others.

Compensation: Pay Grade 13 $46.38 - 62.06 per hour
Days of Work: This position works a 5 day
work week with 1 day off in a 3 week cycle.


Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week
