The Office of the Public Guardian and Trustee of Manitoba (PGT) is a provincial government Special Operating Agency that manages the affairs of Manitobans who are unable to do so themselves and have no one else willing or able to act on their behalf, as well as administers the estates of individuals residing in Manitoba who have died and who have no one else to act as administrator or executor. The PGT also manages trust money on behalf of individuals under the age of 18 as well as those who are under a legal disability. In addition, the PGT manages the personal and financial affairs of individuals who are incompetent to make independent decisions or who are vulnerable adults.

Qualifications:
Essential:

  • Successful completion of a secretarial/administrative assistant training program or extensive experience performing a full range of administrative support duties, such as typing information, entering data, maintaining electronic and manual filing systems and reception duties
  • Excellent verbal communication skills in French
  • Excellent written communication skills in French
  • Strong interpersonal skills that demonstrate both diplomacy and tact.
  • Effective organizational skills in order to meet critical deadlines
  • Ability to work cooperatively as part of a team
  • Ability to maintain accuracy and pay attention to detail when faced in a high paced environment
  • Excellent verbal communication skills in English
  • Excellent written communication skills in English
  • Ability to exercise initiative and to work independently
  • Experience working with confidential and sensitive information.

Desired:
  • Experience working with people who have a mental disability or a mental illness

Duties:
The Administrative Secretary 3 works independently and on his/her owninitiative to provide moderately complex secretarial/clerical services, including typing and word processing to one or more Adult Services Administrators.
