The ADM, Environmental Sustainability is a key member of the departmental senior management team, and is responsible for developing and implementing environmental management policies, programs, and services.
The successful candidate can envision and implement change in a methodical and collaborative manner. Your expertise and big picture thinking balances the needs of stakeholders and clients at all levels. You are thoughtful, influential and strategic and ensure success within government structures and processes. You can motivate and lead diverse team of professionals to achieve results in a complex environment, and can build positive, professional, and reciprocal relationships and networks.

The ADM, Environmental Sustainability is directly responsible for and provides leadership to six (6) branches:

  • Animal Health Unit
  • Conservation Officer Services
  • Environmental Protection and Assessment
  • Fish and Wildlife
  • Parks
  • Water Resources

Essential Qualifications

Please submit your resume outlining your experience:

  • Degree in Public Administration, Environmental Sciences, Natural Resource Management or related discipline;
  • Strong executive-level experience in the public sector;
  • Theoretical base in leadership and public sector administration, including strategic planning, human resources, and financial management
  • Experience providing strategic leadership in the management of diverse and complex program areas, leading teams and working collaboratively across government and externally;
  • Experience taking action and achieving results by developing and implementing environmental management policies, programs and services would be an asset;
  • Experience with First Nations Final and Self-Government Agreements as they relate to environmental programs would be an asset.

Candidates who have education, training, and/or considerable experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above will be equally considered.
