Located in Vancouver, this staff support position is part of the Campus team directly responsible for supporting the recruitment, admissions, and records management for the delivery and servicing of graduate degree programs.

Reporting directly to the Admissions Manager, this position works closely with the Admissions and recruitment. This position supports all aspects of the processing of new student applications.
Responsibilities:
This position works directly with Admissions Manager and supports admissions processing and is responsible for:

  • Receive, review and evaluate all applications for admission.
  • Assess the admission requirements for a student application in accordance with the NYIT Vancouver admissions requirements.
  • Update and track files for their completeness as documents are collected.
  • Receive mailed official documents and update them in the system.
  • Prepare and send out Eligibility for Admission Letters and Acceptance Letter Package.
  • Follow up with applications or agents to ensure that applications are completed with required supporting documentation.
  • Coordinate and respond to inquiries about the admission process or status of applications with recruitment team, agents and students.
  • Provide trainings and directions to student assistants.
  • Generate reports as required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

The Admissions Assistant is a person who is detail oriented and well organized, has previous experience preferably in an educational environment. Knowledge of foreign credentials, excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required. Good working knowledge of word processing software (Word) and spreadsheets (Excel) – knowledge of SLATE system would be an advantage but must be willing to be trained. Must have excellent organizations skills with some background in records management preferred.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

Ideal skills and certification would include:
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Good working knowledge of Word, Excel and some kind of CRM would be preferred
