Overview of the Position

Reporting to the Vice President Enterprise Risk, the Senior Leader (Senior Manager) Property Development will be accountable for Princess Auto’s Store Network Plan ( new markets and stores; renovations/retrofit/relocation of existing stores and distribution centres) and ensuring that it is implemented with properties and facilities designed and delivered with specifications to enable Royal Service to our Customers, a safe and healthy work environment for our Team Members and targeted goals for growth and returns.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Directs the implementation of the various projects required to deliver the Store Network Plan from start to finish
  • Manages the relationships, quality and cost with third parties providing engineering and architectural services
  • Ensures all projects have a Schedule B that clearly articulates the cost, sequence and timing of the project and ensures compliance with building and engineering standards/regulation
  • Manages the consolidated portfolio of Real Estate projects to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget and to defined quality standards
  • Establishes priorities, tasks, and work schedules in advance, maximizes the use of available resources; describes milestones in terms of what is achieved and delivered, monitors the progress of the plans, and ensures that action is taken to resolve delays; anticipates and promptly raises operational or resource issues
  • Ensures all other project management services are delivered in accordance with the project scope and internal customer expectations
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with internal and external key stakeholders
  • Accountable for department budget, providing project estimates and monitors budgets during the various stages of the projects
  • Accountable for leading and directing the Store Development and National Programs teams in accomplishing daily tasks, project work in support of the company and department plans as well as performance monitoring, coaching and development
  • Creates a team environment through ongoing communication and promotes an open door policy

To be successful in this role, you will need,
  • Project Management training/certificate, such as PMP designation
  • 6-10 years related experience in real estate, construction, or project management
  • Proven track record of successful project delivery and ability to improve PM practices
  • Strong business acumen and leadership skills.
  • Strong analytical, decision making and problem solving skills
  • Ability to drive results and execute plans
  • Ability to work independently and as a team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to travel
