We have two upcoming openings for the student/seasonal position of Parks and Trails Labourer. The successful candidates will have a Grade 12 Diploma, be enrolled in a post-secondary program ideally related to agriculture, natural resource/environmental studies, sciences or landscaping programs and hold a valid Class 5 BC driver’s license without restrictions. First Aid certification is considered an asset.

Candidates will be friendly and outgoing, with good verbal communication and great customer service skills, physically fit, able to work in adverse weather conditions and terrain and have the skills to operate small power tools and equipment.

Reporting to the Supervisor, Parks Operations, the Parks and Trails Labourer assists in the maintenance and repairs of the regional parks and trail systems to ensure a high standard and safe use of the facilities and amenities by the public. Responding to the public with tact and courtesy, candidates will also have a general understanding of landscape maintenance techniques and work exceptionally well as part of a team and on their own.

These full-time positions (40 hours/week) are from approximately May 1, 2023 to August 25, 2023 with a wage of $20.06 per hour plus 16% in lieu of vacation, statutory holidays and all other benefits for an aggregate total of $23.27 per hour.
