Summary of Duties

Under the supervision of a Neighbourhood Development and Support Manager or Supervisor, the NeighbourGood Program Coordinator is responsible for providing neighbourhood event supports, and coordinating the outdoor movie night program. This position will also assist the NeighbourGood team on various projects throughout the year.

Work Performed

  • Liaise, coordinate and provide excellent communication with residents, neighbourhood groups, and City of London staff
  • Collaborate with Parks Operations staff and other internal departments to ensure parks and amenities are well maintained and operational during the NeighbourGood London events season
  • Administer the movie night and equipment lending registration processes and keep accurate records and inventories
  • Schedule movie night staff shifts
  • Uphold strong administrative practices
  • Coordinate NeighbourGood London budgets where applicable and work with staff and residents to ensure successful programs and events
  • Attend and execute outdoor movie nights, which includes technology set up and take down, safety and equipment checks, photography, crowd engagement, and promotion of City of London neighbourhood programs
  • Attend neighbourhood and city-wide events where applicable to engage with residents and promote City of London programs
  • Attend evening and weekend functions/events, as required
  • Ensure all City of London policies and practices are followed
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor

Qualifications/Experience

Proficient knowledge and experience in the following areas:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills
  • Customer service experience
  • Experience with community engagement and outreach
  • Technical proficiencies in Microsoft Teams and Office programs
  • Confidence to use a variety of software and A/V technology
  • Motivated self-starter and willingness to take initiative
  • Excellent written, oral communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to deal with conflict and conflict resolution
  • Ability to travel to community locations throughout London, and on occasion, bring supplies and equipment that may require heavy lifting
  • Familiarity with London and its neighbourhoods an asset
  • Knowledge of community organizations and resources an asset
  • Community engagement experience an asset
  • Ability to speak other languages an asset

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree/college diploma in recreation & leisure, community development or similar education/experience
  • A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
  • Standard First Aid/CPR and Current Police Record Check required

Compensation and Other Information

Rate of Pay: $18.00-$21.00 commensurate with experience

Commitment: April through October (up 35 hours per week) with the possibility of extension. Training and orientation to begin in March

Hours: Daytime hours Monday – Friday, with frequent weekends and evenings

  • Must provide own transportation, with mileage reimbursement provided
  • Successful candidate must provide a Vulnerable Sector Screening prior to starting work
  • Mix of remote and in-person working environments
