We have an exciting career opportunity for a seasoned professional in the position of Manager, Environmental Services. The successful candidate will have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Resource Management or a related field. Ten years of relevant experience in environmental or solid waste management fields, preferably within local government, including leading and supervising staff is required. A lesser qualified candidate with growth potential may be considered and placed in a developmental role.

You are a team leader with excellent interpersonal and public relations skills. You have extensive knowledge of solid waste management and are recognized as a Qualified Professional in the industry. You will work collaboratively with other departments, the Board of Directors, the public, and other federal, provincial, and municipal entities to ensure the best interests of the region are met in a cost effective manner while minimizing potential liability. You will act as a key representative regarding environmental issues and provide technical expertise on a wide range of issues requiring extensive knowledge of federal and provincial legislation and policy.

Reporting to the General Manager, Strategic and Community Services, the Manager, Environmental Services is responsible for the development, implementation and management of strategic plans, policies, programs and activities associated with solid waste management. This position supervises Diversion and Disposal Facilities operational staff.
