The Regional Support unit of the IT Division, Ministry of SaskBuilds and Procurement, provides desk-side support using a regionalized delivery and support model. Calls for assistance that cannot be dealt with remotely are escalated to this area for resolution. The unit provides advanced troubleshooting and incident resolution of hardware problems and software configuration issues for approximately 12,000 clients in an Enterprise network.

The Regional Support Analyst is responsible to perform on-site, advanced troubleshooting, problem solving and root cause analysis for escalated incidents involving desktop software, hardware, operating systems, mobile devices, printer hardware and applications while ensuring customer satisfaction. This position is also responsible for reporting, documentation and training as it relates to computer hardware and various productivity software applications.

The knowledge of Active Directory; INTEL-based desktop hardware; Microsoft Windows operating systems; Microsoft Office suite of productivity applications; mobile/tablet devices; print technologies; and an advanced understanding of data communications hardware, software and networking protocols with an emphasis on TCP/IP is required. This position also requires experience in the support and maintenance of client/server-based applications, anti-virus/malware software and other security-related products. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as demonstrated skill in advanced troubleshooting and problem solving.

Typically, this knowledge would be obtained through a degree or certificate in Computer Science, as well as certificates in A+ and MCDST. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

The physical demand for this position is higher than most IT positions. As travel is required, candidates must have a valid driver's licence.
