We are currently looking for a Manager, Small Business to join our team in Montreal.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Preparation and revision of financial statements and tax returns in accordance with Firm standards for corporate clients in a variety of industries
  • Reviewing personal and trust tax returns and partnership information returns (T1, T3 and T5013)
  • Providing accounting and tax compliance services to private clients for compilation and review engagements
  • Preparing and delivering proposals to clients for services offered by the firm
  • Managing the overall planning and work volume for the fiscal year end accounting and taxation
  • Coordinating and supervising the Senior Accountants of small businesses in a variety of industries
  • Advising clients on planning opportunities, tax strategies, and financial reporting
  • Leading client mandates and identifying and analyzing client needs
  • Providing clients with comprehensive business plans, financial solutions, and practical business advice
  • Designing, developing and delivering final reports and/or presentations to clients
  • Maintaining relationships with clients
  • Effectively communicating with our clients, government agencies and with our partners and staff
  • Keeping partners and other team members informed, on an ongoing basis, of progress and significant issues
  • Demonstrating a leadership role and evaluating the performance of staff members
  • Providing advice and training to other staff members

What you need to succeed:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce with a major in Accounting and Taxation
  • CPA designation, tax degree or CICA In-Depth tax program is an asset
  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in a small or medium accounting firm (Review Financial Statements, personal and corporate tax returns. Preparation and review Trust and partnership returns is an asset)
  • Prior experience working with accounting software (Sage 50, QuickBooks desktop and Online, Writeup, Caseware, Caseview, and others)
  • Experience reviewing and supervising the work of others
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills (French)
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, leadership skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work with others in teams effectively
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
